Privacy Policy
The short version: RollSpawn is local-first. Your characters, settings, and purchase status live on your device in a local database. We do not collect, store, or share personal information on any server. There is no account. There is no cloud.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the RollSpawn mobile application ("RollSpawn", "the app", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Ethan Wood, reachable at support@rollspawn.com.
2. Information we do not collect
RollSpawn does not collect any of the following:
- Account registration data - there is no account system.
- Email addresses, phone numbers, or real names.
- Location data, contacts, photos, or microphone input.
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA, AAID) - no ads are served in the app.
- Behavioral analytics (event tracking, funnels, heatmaps).
- Crash telemetry that includes personally identifiable information.
3. Information stored on your device
RollSpawn saves the following data locally in an on-device SQLite database managed by the app. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export or share it using a feature like PDF Export or Share.
- Characters you create: species, class, ability scores, spells, equipment, background, notes.
- App preferences: sound effects toggle, haptic feedback toggle, dark-theme selection, whether the Adventurer's Quick Start Guide has been viewed.
- Premium status flag: a boolean recording whether the one-time premium purchase has been completed. This is validated against the platform App Store receipt.
- Roll history: an anonymized log of past rolls used to power the Stats screen. No real-world identity is attached.
4. Third-party services
RollSpawn uses the following third-party services. We do not have access to the personal information these services collect directly from you; please review their privacy policies for details.
- Apple App Store / In-App Purchase: processes the one-time premium purchase on iOS. Apple handles all payment information. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Billing: processes the one-time premium purchase on Android. Google handles all payment information. See Google's Privacy Policy.
RollSpawn does not use third-party analytics services, third-party crash reporters, advertising SDKs, or social-media tracking pixels in version 1.0.
5. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for marketing purposes. Because we do not collect personal information on a server, there is nothing to share.
6. Children's privacy
RollSpawn is rated for general audiences and is not specifically directed at children under 13. Because RollSpawn does not collect personal information, there is no data to store or delete with respect to any user, including children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us (despite our best efforts not to collect any), please contact us at support@rollspawn.com.
7. Your choices and rights
Because data is stored only on your device, you have full control:
- Delete individual characters: from the vault screen in the app.
- Clear all data: uninstall the app. All local data is removed with the app.
- Export your data: use the PDF, Text, or JSON export feature on any character.
- Restore premium: use the "Restore Purchases" option on the Settings screen, which queries the App Store or Play Store for your purchase history.
If you are a resident of a jurisdiction with data protection rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar), those rights do not generate additional obligations for us because we do not hold personal data. If you have questions, contact us at the address below.
8. Security
Data on your device is protected by your device's security model (passcode, biometrics, OS sandboxing). We strongly recommend keeping your device software up to date and using a device passcode.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy - for example, if we add cloud sync in a future version - we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the new policy at this URL before the change takes effect. Material changes will also be announced in the app and in the release notes for that version.
